A group of young scientists have slammed the health claims made by food companies to sell products.
Their report, There Goes the Science Bit, published by the charity Sense About Science, singled out Nestlé's Ski Activ8 yoghurt, which claims that it optimises the release of energy if combined with a healthy lifestyle.
Although a spokesman for Nestlé told the Daily Telegraph that the vitamins and minerals in Activ8 “help optimise the release of energy”, the scientists said that if people eat a healthy diet and have enough B vitamins, eating more yoghurt would not help.
