Tesco’s commercial and trading director John Gildersleeve has now retired from the board.
He has been replaced by Richard Brasher, who was head of non-food commercial activities (The Grocer, September 13, pp4, 22). Brasher’s former responsibilities are shared by John Horner, chief executive, clothing, and Terry Price, director, hard lines. Gildersleeve, who has been a non-executive director of Gallaher, has already moved on to become non-executive chairman of the tobacco giant.
His departure coincides with the retirement of company secretary Rowley Ager, who is succeeded by Lucy Neville-Rolfe, and the appointment of Rodney Chase as senior non-executive director.
