Kettle Foods is launching a range of non-HFSS bread snacks.
Called ‘Bread Bites’, the range will debut with three flavours: Focaccia Bites with Sea Salt, Rosemary & Extra Virgin Olive Oil; Naan Bites with Spiced Onion Bhaji with Chilli & Toasted Onion; and Sourdough Bites with Parmigiano Reggiano & Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
The triple-baked snacks were made with “real food ingredients baked into the dough for a unique crunchy texture”, said the brand.
Intended to be eaten straight from the bag or warmed in the oven, they would “help encourage shoppers to take a step out of their normal routine when browsing the snacking aisle”, it added.
They will roll into Morrisons on 28 March, followed by Tesco on 11 April (rsp: £2.09/120g).
“We pride ourselves on creating delicious and innovative seasonings that we know consumers will love,” said Russell Tanner, MD of Kettle Foods owner Valeo Snack Foods.
“Through the launch of our new Bread Bites range, we’re providing consumers with an exciting new snack option that tantalise the tastebuds, and our retail partners with a non-HFSS Kettle snacking range.”
It comes as other snacks suppliers are also busy launching non-HFSS innovations ahead of the government clampdowns.
Walkers, for example, today (14 March) unveiled its first fully non-HFSS crisps range with “nearly half the salt” of its standard offering.
In January, Tyrrells expanded its range of non-HFSS crisps with a Mediterranean Herb flavour.
