KP Nuts is to make it first TV appearance in 24 years as part of £3m multimedia campaign.
The Nut Nut’s Nut advert, featuring a CGI baby elephant at a social gathering, will air from tomorrow (22 June) to August, with KP expecting it to reach more than 37 million people.
It will be backed by posters on 1,375 giant billboards in high footfall areas, shopper displays across the multiple grocers, and an integrated digital and social media programme.
The aim of the push was to encourage year-round consumption and open up further snacking occasions, said KP, which experiences 39% of nuts sales in the run up to Christmas.
“It’s never been a better time to shout about nuts,” said Jess Templeton, senior brand manager for KP Nuts. “The category is up by 6% over the past three years as more and more people recognise the health credentials of nuts. They’re high in fibre and a great source of natural protein.”
In May, KP rolled out Original Salted and Dry Roasted variants in limited-edition 300g caddy, to tap daytime occasions such as summer barbecues.
