Leon has launched a new loyalty app, Leon Club, following customer demand.
The new app, which is now available at all Leon sites across the UK, lets users order restaurant food, as well as reorder favourite dishes and rack up points in the process.
Leon Club members will receive 100 points for every £1 spent. After spending a total of £30 (or 3,000 points), they will be able to redeem the reward for a free single item on the menu regardless of cost – such as a coffee, a cookie, or a full salad/wrap.
The reward cannot be used on any meal deal.
As users purchase their way to 3,000 points, they will receive “a number of mini milestones along the way in the way of treats and freebies” – including a free fries promotion (redeemable against Leon’s baked waffle fries), which will kick off on 21 February.
The healthy fast food business made the announcement following customer feedback and the success of its web-based click & collect platform, Smart Order.
When it surveyed its newsletter subscribers, Leon found that customers responded to say they wanted an app with loyalty features.
The company said it would add more features depending on customer feedback following the initial launch.
Leon’s announcement mirrors similar moves from others in the fast food industry, including giant McDonald’s, which launched its app-based loyalty scheme earlier this year.
McDonald’s Rewards follows a similar concept in which users garner 100 points for every £1 spent. As points build up, customers are able to redeem them for increasingly expensive menu items.
