Lindt has jumped on the viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ trend, launching its own pistachio cream and kadayif pastry-stuffed tablet into selected stores.

The NPD, Dubai Style Chocolate (rsp: £10/145g), was manufactured in Germany “using state-of-the-art technology”.

It has already hit shelves in the US, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Now, it is available from selected Lindt stores in the UK, including Bicester Village, Leeds Trinity, McArthurGlen (Cheshire Oaks) and Bluewater in Dartford “only until stocks last”.

“Wow! This trending chocolate looks delicious,” one shopper posted to TikTok. “Can’t wait to try it,” they added.

“Please make it available online,” pleaded one consumer on Instagram. Another simply wrote: “PLEASE ASDA.”

Replying to the comments, however, Lindt UK stressed the sought-after chocolate bar would only be sold in the stores listed above, “available only until stocks last”.

The innovation builds on a viral TikTok phenomenon. Over recent months, foodie and ASMR influencers have taken to the platform to post videos of themselves eating Dubai chocolatier Fix Dessert’s Can’t Get Knafeh of It tablet.

Launched in 2021 by British-Egyptian entrepreneur Sarah Hamouda, the indulgent creation centres on traditional Middle Eastern pastry dessert knafeh with pistachio and tahini, encased in hand-painted milk chocolate.

At the time of publication, the brand had amassed 349.6k TikTok followers and the hashtag #dubaichocolate had been attached to 143.2k posts on the platform.

Lindt is currently contesting a class action lawsuit filed by US consumers over alleged heavy metals found in its dark chocolate bars.
