Haggis producer Macsween has removed nuts from its vegetarian haggis in response to growing consumer concern about nut allergies.
The reformulated product - which now contains sunflower and pumpkin seeds - will hit shelves at the end of September.
Consumers found the nut-free version “nuttier” than the original in blind tests, Macsween claimed. “We ran lots of tasting sessions and tried out different recipes,” said director Jo Macsween.
