Morrisons has produced a film that follows its apples from orchard to its shelves in a bid to highlight its credentials for offering UK-sourced fruit and vegetables.
The news comes after the supermarket giant signed an exclusive supply deal with grower Cotswolds Orchards.
The film stars Morrisons apple buyer Jonathan Hooper and tracks the supermarket’s Bramley and Cox apples on their journey from tree to store.
The film, which also highlights the use of fresh British apples in Morrisons’ apple-stuffed pork loin and Bramley apple pies, can be seen on the supermarket giant’s website, Morrisons.co.uk.
“Morrisons has totally supported our company by agreeing to take all our quality apples,” says Nicholas Dunsby of Cotswolds Orchards. “In return, we have agreed to supply Morrisons exclusively.”
