Nestlé has launched a duo of multigrain cereals for babies under its SMA brand.
Two variants – Little Steps Multigrain Cereals Oat, Barley & Wheat for babies from six months, and Little Steps Multigrain Cereals with Fruit for toddlers from 12 months – have rolled exclusively into Asda (rsp: £2/180g).
They contained no added sugars and are fortified with essential nutrients, such as iron, vitamin C and thiamine to help “support the normal cognitive development of young children”, it said.
Nestlé Nutrition UK&I marketing director Ingrid Hayes said it had developed the cereals “to provide parents with the reassurance that they’re giving their little one a healthy start to the day”.
They offered an “affordable per serving price point”, Hayes added.
It comes after Nestlé added a plant-based toddler milk alternative to its SMA Little Steps lineup in June.
The drink, called Little Steps Plantygrow, was billed as being designed for toddlers aged one to three.
Nestlé last summer debuted a line of savoury snacks under SMA Little Steps.
