Sainsbury's has created two new roles in its beers, wines and spirits team to drive its long-term strategy and respond to changing customer needs.
The first role, of beers, wines and spirits senior manager, has been filled by Warren Anderson. Anderson has worked at Sainsbury's for more than 12 years in buying and business planning roles. From 4 September, he will oversee Sainsbury's entire BWS trading team.
Jane Hughes, Sainsbury's category manager for wine, will fill the second role of beers, wines and spirits business development manager with immediate effect.
Sainsbury's said Hughes' role had been created to implement its strategy across all areas, focusing on driving operational excellence, developing Sainsbury's channels to market and a structured customer communications plan.
