Get Fruity
Cornish snack company Get Fruity will use IFE to highlight the reformulation of its soft fruit and oat bars. Healthy cues for the new strawberry, mixed berry, and apricot, orange & ginger recipes include gluten-free and vegan credentials and virgin coconut oil. Get Fruity was launched by food developer Davina Whiteoak and started production in April 2014. Though small, the company aspires to a place in the supermarkets in addition to existing listings at attractions like the Eden Project. “We’ve sold 50,000 bars to Ocado in three months,” says a spokeswoman.
Jools Drinks
Inspired by Cambodian bubble tea, Jools Drinks contain vitamin and flavour pearls (or ‘jools’) in a green tea base. Launched last year with private investment of £300,000, the brand has already picked up awards for innovation and is listed by Whole Foods Market and Holland & Barrett. The three flavours, including acerola jools in mango green tea, feature on-trend fruits and tick numerous health boxes.
Brocks Chocs
Danesh Amin started making chocolates aged 10 as a charity fundraiser, selling them outside his dad’s Spar in Brockham, Surrey. Now 17 and a trained chocolatier, he oversees a core range of 14 milk, dark and white 100g bars, with flavours including lemon & gin, cola, and chilli currently stocked by Nisa and Amazon. Brocks Chocs will launch a new sustainable bar at IFE produced with cacao sourced by direct contract with farmers in Tanzania.
Lickalix
Organic fruit ice lolly company Lickalix will launch its four wholesale flavours at IFE after a year of R&D and a successful £225,000 crowdfunding pitch. Set up by husband and wife Karis and Dominic Gesua, Lickalix shuns concentrates and produces a lactose, gluten and dairy-free end product that contains minimal added sugar. With availability limited to 40 London outlets in 2014, Lickalix is now establishing nationwide distribution.
