Panini has unveiled its first sticker album for the Uefa Women’s Euro tournament – and only the second from the Italian publisher’s UK arm to feature women’s football.
The NPD launched today (1 June) ahead of the 12th annual competition, which will kick off on 16 July in the Netherlands and run until 6 August. Comprising 40 pages with 334 places for stickers covering 16 national squads, the new album features performance stats and a bio for each player. It came in response to growing interest in women’s soccer and “the great increase of female players around the world” said Panini.
The album is available with four sticker packs from high street branches of WH Smith, selected Sainsbury’s stores, McColl’s, One Stop and independents (rsp: £2.29). A sticker pack has an rsp of 60p.
The launch will be marked by a campaign including press and digital advertising, sampling, social media, and an online trading cards game called Uefa Women’s Euro 2017 Adrenalyn XL.
This is only the second time Panini has celebrated women’s football in the UK, having published a World Cup album in 2015.
