Sausage brand Porky Whites has launched its first premium steak burger.
The British Beef Chuck Steak Burgers (rsp: £3.30-3.50/340g) contain pure British chuck beef with a pinch of salt and pepper.
The move comes after the brand launched a round, flat pork sausage in September last year called Porky Flats, with the success of the line leading to a move into the mainstream burger market, brand owner G.White & Co said.
“Using high-quality chuck beef has resulted in a richness of flavour and the perfect balance of lean meat and minimal fat, which melts in the mouth,” said MD Chris Price. “The gourmet burger market has been growing steadily for years and we have put our own spin on it.
The burgers went on sale in selected Asda stores across the South East of England and nationally with Booker in mid-May. Additional listings in selected Tesco stores across the South East are set to follow in June.
