Savoury biscuits have benefited from health concerns, with sales growing ahead of their sweet counterparts.
While sales of most types of sweet biscuit are down, crackers are up 4.1%, and other savoury biscuits 13.9% [Kantar 52 w/e 21 July 2015].
United Biscuits MD Jon Eggleton said Brits were swapping fried snacks for baked ones: “That’s a great opportunity for us and the market.”
