It was another close call on stock availability, but Asda edged ahead of last year's champion Morrisons to add the prize for availability to its The Grocer 33 pricing gong.
Although Morrisons achieved three more full baskets over the year, it had two more out-of-stock items than Asda, meaning Asda took home the spoils.
The retailer's triumph was aided by improved availability performance since Christmas with just 13 out of stocks compared with Morrisons' 19, and an impressive streak of four consecutive full baskets over January and February.
Asda also managed to achieve a high number of full baskets in April and May, demonstrating the hard work it has put in over the past year to ensure its shelves are fully stocked.
