Threshers has added eight Fairtrade wines to its shelves including six from its own-label Origin range.
The off-licence chain has worked with the Fairtrade Foundation in South America and South Africa to develop the wines and will donate 10% of the retail price for each bottle sold to Wine Relief - the wine arm of the Comic Relief charity.
The wines support projects providing schooling for children in South Africa and safe drinking water to villages in countries such as Argentina.
"Consumers get great quality wine and producers will see real benefits in their local communities," said Jonathan Butt, head of global sourcing at Threshers. The Origin range includes a Chenin Blanc and a Shiraz from South Africa and a Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec from Argentina.
The other two wines are a Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay Viognier from Chile. Wines retail at £6.99 a bottle or £4.66 under a buy two-get-one-free offer.
