Unilever is putting £4.1m into a "revolutionary" new Colman's baking bag product that it claims is the first innovation in condiments in five years.
Colman's Season & Shake is an all-in-one baking bag and seasoning sachet (rsp: £1.49) that launches this month in three flavours Rustic, Mediterranean and Paprika.
Branded as an easy way to season and roast meat in the oven, it will be promoted via a partnership with celebrity chef Tony Tobin.
"Colman's Season and Shake is the only innovative product to hit the category in over five years," said Jocelin Dills, brand manager for the savoury category at Unilever. "The specially designed bag seals in the flavour of the herbs and spices, creating a convenient way to season and oven roast meat."
The product is also being rolled out in the Republic of Ireland, where the Colman's brand isn't distributed, under Knorr.
