Unilever is expanding its range of Bertolli olive oil spreads with a new buttery-tasting variant.
Bertolli Gold, made with vegetable and olive oil as well as buttermilk, contains 40% less saturated fat than spreadable butter and will go into the mults on 3 September, priced at £2.40 for a 400g pack.
The launch will be supported by a £2.5m marketing spend, including a TV advert, in October.
“The new Bertolli Gold taps into the current trend for products that offer a quality taste combined with health credentials,” said Unilever UK brand manager Kieran Danaher.
Unilever already sells 500g and 1kg packs of Bertolli olive oil spread, and a lighter version.
