Tesco is altering the signage of some of its stores to mark the launch of the Xbox One console this week.
The retailer is flagging up the rollout of the console – the first new Xbox device in eight years – by replacing the ‘o’ in the Tesco sign on 10 Extra stores with the circled ‘x’ of the Xbox logo.
More than 100 Tesco Extra stores will open at midnight on Thursday to sell the console. Xbox brand owner Microsoft said stock would be limited and that consoles would be sold on a “strictly first-come, first-served basis”.
The 10 Extra Tesco stores with Xbox One signage are: Chesterfield, Coventry Ricoh Arena, Dundee, Gallions Reach, Blackpool Clifton, Mansfield Jubilee, Redditch, Cheshunt, Slough Wellington, and Watford Extra.
