When Tesco opened its biggest distribution centre in Reading earlier this year, it turned to ex-army man Chris Jones to run the 900,000 sq ft space. Jones joined Tesco in 2003, assembling cages at the Magor DC, and rose through the ranks fast. He is now Tesco’s youngest depot manager, organising over 1,100 staff. In the latest staff survey, 94% of his staff said they liked working for Tesco - the highest score ever.
