Matthews has held almost every job going at Ocado. With a first-class degree in computing from Imperial College under his belt, he joined as a software developer in 2005. After two years, including a stint as a strategic marketing manager, he moved to the US to do an MBA at Harvard Business School. On his return, he re-joined Ocado as head of investor relations. This year, he was promoted to director of non-food, which makes him responsible for leading Ocado’s push into new categories including pets, toys and home and garden.
