Booths has launched a startup accelerator scheme to help grow food and drink businesses.
The Booths Accelerator will offer the winning company a tailored 12-month programme that will include financial funding as well as business expertise to help “take them to the next level”.
Other perks that are part of the package include a potential retail listing, NPD and manufacturing advice, marketing and packaging design advice, as well as guidance on brand strategy.
The winner will also have access to personal mentorship and industry and market insight.
“Getting a new product to market or an idea into production is a challenge,” said Booths MD Nigel Murray. “Eighty-one per cent of food and drink startups don’t feel they get enough support from the industry.
“This initiative is set to change that. It’s our way of giving back, by sharing our insights, experience, and tactical investment to help the next generation of food businesses.”
Applications for the Booths Accelerator Scheme will be open from 27 June to 31 August.
Selected entrants will then pitch their startups or business ideas to the executive team in October, and the programme will officially kick off in January 2023.
While only one emerging brand will take home the full support package, Booths has said other participants may also score product listings throughout the application process.
Applicants will also be able to receive feedback and advice on how to market a product.
Murray added: “Our suppliers, farmers and producers making great products are the key ingredients to the success of Booths.
“The original EH Booth’s desire to sell the very best goods he could find, still drives our business.
“We value the people and businesses who make exceptional food and drink and this initiative is to help nurture the food entrepreneurs of the future.”
