Jaspal Chada is to replace Tony Camp as Burton’s Foods’ marketing director when he resigns in March after 23 years in the biscuit industry.
Chada is general manager for marketing at Burton’s sister company Premier International Foods, responsible for tea, beverages, spreads, snacks and desserts. He joined in 2002 from New Zealand Milk, previously
Anchor Foods, where he was marketing director. Before that he held marketing positions at Cadbury Trebor Bassett.
Camp is a main board member and survived the directorial changes in May last year, when chief executive Adrian Sharp and sales director Ian Gibson left (The Grocer, May 3, 2003, p17). Finance director Steve Yarwood and Ron Southern, director of Burton’s snacks business, moved on shortly afterwards.
Camp chose to stay with his family in the north of England when Burton’s Foods moved head office functions such as marketing and trading from Blackpool to St Albans at the end of 2003.
