Vegan savoury pastry brand Clive’s Pies is launching a trio of products into Waitrose.
Two new products – Red Pepper & Harissa Quiche and Coronation Chickpea Puff Pie – will roll into the retailer.
A reworked version of its Broccoli and Pesto Quiche will also join the range.
The quiches will roll out in new packaging, which features a compostable plant-based window instead of traditional plastic.
They will roll exclusively into Waitrose on 14 September (rsp: £2.65-£4.25/165g-380g).
Clive’s MD Esther Pearson said: “We wanted to pop a window on our scrummy new Red Pepper & Harissa Quiche and our reworked Broccoli & Pesto Quiche so everyone could see the delicious new toppings.”
Both now featured “a plant-based window instead of traditional plastic”, which set the brand apart from the rest of the category, Pearson claimed.
Clive’s NPD manager Craig Blackborough said the Red Pepper & Harissa Quiche was “created for sharing”.
“We created the product based on trending flavour profiles to make it something you will want to share with your family, friends and co-workers”, he said, adding “we’ve put a lot of love and care into creating our products.”
Waitrose chilled vegan and vegetarian buyer Catherine Shacklock said: “We’re delighted to be the first supermarket to launch more of Clive’s tasty plant-based products.”
Customer reviews on the retailer’s Clive’s range showed “great loyalty”. As a result, the Waitrose team was “really excited to share the next range of deliciously innovative development with them”, she said.
