US chilled petfood brand Freshpet has appointed Hannah Edwards as senior marketing manager of its European operation.
She joins from consumer electronics company Hoover Candy, where she spent over two years in a senior role managing the floorcare division’s marketing activities, covering all product segments from NPD to lifecycle management. Prior to Hoover, she held marketing positions at National Car Parks, Bupa Individual Protection and Dolby Laboratories.
In her newly created role at Freshpet, Edwards will lead European marketing strategy, and support continued business development and growth. She will report to founder and European CEO Cathal Walsh and US vice president of marketing John Speranza.
Her brief will be to deliver creative campaigns that drive awareness and conversion for the brand, which rolled out to chillers in Tesco stores nationwide earlier this year, following a 2016 trial with the retailer. Launched in the US in 2006, it offers healthier, meat-rich meals for dogs and cats.
Freshpet was “an innovative brand that’s not afraid to challenge the status quo”, said Edwards. “It’s already made deep emotional connections with a loyal consumer base in America. There is enormous scope for further development in the UK.”
Walsh said Edwards’ appointment was “an exciting move for Freshpet as the brand gains momentum in the UK. Her experience will be a huge asset as we grow further and take the business to the next level.”
