Jaffa Cakes fans have been slime-bobbing for the limited-edition ‘Lime & Slime’ flavour of the popular snack.
Shoppers in London’s Covent Garden yesterday were invited to don goggles and dunk their heads in a bowl of slime to hunt down the hidden cakes.
The event celebrated the return of McVitie’s Halloween version of the Jaffa Cake, which United Biscuits first launched in 2009.
“This was a really fun, creative way for us to sample our limited-edition flavour to the public,” said senior brand manager for McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Sarah Horowitz.
“We don’t produce limited edition flavours that often, but when we do, we love to get fans involved in trying out new ways to eat them. Hopefully we can see a return of one of Britain’s favourite Halloween games again in 2014.”
