British Olympic Team sponsor Müller Yogurt & Desserts is giving away £250,000 as part of an on-pack promotion to encourage the public to ‘get into the Olympic spirit’.
Altogether five gold medal lids will be hidden across the yoghurt and chilled dairy pudding manufacturer’s Müller Corner, Müllerlight and Müller Rice promotional single pots (rsp: £0.69), giving consumers the chance to win £50,000 each.
A TV ad featuring former Olympic athlete Kriss Akabusi will support the activity, which runs until 1 July.
“It’s our aim to delight consumers and to create fantastic store activations with our customers, working collaboratively to help ensure the growth of the category. Having legendary sports personality Kriss Akabusi on board in our TV adverts will create a real buzz around the promotion,” said Müller Group chief marketing officer Michael Inpong,
Müller announced a one-year sponsorship with the British Olympic Association last September, following Aldi, which became Team GB’s first ever official supermarket partner for the build-up and duration of the 2016 games, which begin in August.
Sainsbury’s sponsored the 2012 Paralympic Games in London and continues to support UK Athletics and the British Paralympic Association.
