Burton’s Biscuit Co has appointed Nick Field as its new chief financial officer following the retirement of Jim Green.
Field, who was commercial strategy and finance director, took over from Green last month. He has worked at Burton’s for 10 years, having joined the biscuit maker from professional services giant PwC.
He was heavily involved in the refinancing of the company in 2008 and subsequent strategic plans for the business.
“Nick is an exceptional talent and, since joining the board in 2010 as sales strategy and planning director, his consistent very high performance has had a successful impact on the operating performance of the company,” said chief executive Ben Clarke.
Green is retiring after a long career in the biscuit industry. He had been at Burton’s since 2008 and previously worked for 15 years in senior finance roles at United Biscuits, including as UK finance director.
He won the private company finance director of the year award at the FDs’ Excellence Awards in 2011.
Burton’s was sold to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan at the end of last year.
