Premier Foods is this month rolling out NPD and packaging revamps for its Batchelors brand.
Batchelors Mugfull is a range of low-fat soups containing either rice, noodles or pasta. They are sold as individual sachets of dry rice, noodles or pasta with seasoning, and need to be mixed with boiling water. Available in Chicken & Mushroom Noodles, Bolognese Flavour Pasta, Tikka Flavour Rice and Chilli Con Carne Flavour Rice, the sachets have an 80p rsp and will be on offer at three packets for £2.
Mugfulls replaces the sachet formats of Cup A Pasta, Cup A Noodle and Cup A Rice, but these will still be available in pots.
Premier is also launching its first limited-edition Super Noodles product – a Steak & Ale Pie flavour (rsp: 81p) that the company said had been inspired by consumer demand for “great British flavours inspired by traditional pub lunches”.
The Batchelors Deli Box range (rsp: £1.19) is being given a new pack design and reformulated with thicker and more noodles. A flash on pack will announce the products contain ‘Bigger Flavour, Bigger Noodles’.
“This is an exciting time for the Batchelors brand, with three new launches to offer our customers,” said Batchelors brand director Jess Ali. “Each one has been designed to suit our core consumers and reflects our continued commitment to delivering quality products that provide shoppers with great tasting flavours.
“All three will drive new shoppers to the category through innovation and by reinvigorating current lines.”
