Richmond has launched Pigs in Blankets into its Extra Tasty Range.
The meat and sausages brand’s latest addition will launch exclusively across Tesco stores nationwide from 27 November.
The pigs in blankets are made of Richmond classic pork cocktail sausages wrapped in streaky beechwood smoked bacon.
“We’re thrilled to roll out our new Richmond Extra Tasty Pigs in Blankets, which offer an exciting twist on the beloved Christmas classic,” said Chris Doe, marketing director at Pilgrim’s Europe. “By using our streaky beechwood smoked bacon, we provide an affordable way to elevate this non-negotiable festive staple.”
The brand said supermarket sales of pigs in blankets increased by £21.9m during November and December last year and the launch was designed to tap into this demand and help boost sales during the seasonal period.
“This launch is perfectly timed to meet the growing demand in the lead-up to and during the festive season, with taste continuing to be a key factor in consumers’ purchasing decisions,” said Doe. “Richmond is a trusted heritage brand known for its continuous growth and innovation, and we’re confident this new product will resonate with shoppers, making their Christmas celebrations even more special.”
Richmond has also relaunched its ‘Good Times’ campaign, which is running from three weeks from 4 November, backed by a £1.2m spend.
The campaign aims to remind everyone to cherish the precious moments often taken for granted and highlight the comfort of classic meals from trusted brands.
It features both meat and meat-free options, running across TV, VOD and social media platforms.
