Vadasz Kimchi Shot

The NPD contains no artificial ingredients or added sugar

Pickle and kimchi brand Vadasz has extended into drinks, launching a “naturally fermented and live cultured” kimchi shot.

The NPD (rsp: £2/60ml) is made from ingredients such as Chinese leaf, carrot, spring onion, Korean chilli flakes (gochugaru), fresh ginger, garlic and sea salt. It will launch via Ocado on 2 February.

Unlike other juice shots on the market, the Vadasz Kimchi Shot was “completely natural, with no artificial ingredients or added sugar”, Vadasz said.

The shot had  “a unique savoury umami flavour, compared to the sweet shots that dominate supermarket shelves”, it added.

“As the UK’s leading pickles and kimchi brand, we’re always exploring ways to bring the Vadasz magic to new categories,” said Yvonne Adam, CMO at Vadasz owner The Compleat Food Group. “With the health shots market expected to double in value to £60m by the end of 2025, we saw an exciting opportunity to launch a health shot that not only breaks new ground but also builds on the success of our Kimchi Ketchup and Super Beet Kimchi.”

In September, Vadasz made its first foray into table sauces, unveiling Kimchi Ketchup, Hot Pepper, and Jalapeno (rsps: £4.50-£4.75/250ml).

Vadasz was named ‘Food Brand of the Year’ at the Grocer Gold Awards 2024.
