Waitrose is launching a new chilled soup brand called Bowl next week.
Made exclusively for the supermarket by Bakkavor, the soups contain less than 5% fat and fewer than 350 calories.
Featuring bold colours on the packs and quirky fonts, they are aimed at young consumers looking for a healthy lunch or light evening meal.
There are six flavours in the range including West Indian chicken, Bombay spiced cauliflower and carrot, and crème fraiche and coriander.
“The range uses nothing but store cupboard ingredients for that everyday homemade, comforting soup experience. High in flavour, Bowl is an ideal lunchtime option for consumers looking for something healthy without losing out on the taste,” said Bakkavor marketing manager Sonia Armanet.
The 400g soups will retail with an rsp of £1.80. The meats in the soups are all sourced from the UK.
