Jacob’s has added two “cheesy” limited-edition Mini Cheddars variants.
Cheese & Red Onion and Cream Cheese, Garlic & Herb will hit Sainsbury’s shelves on 3 February (rsp: £1.89/6x23g).
Each variant will also launch in a single-serve £1.25 PMP (90g) for convenience stores, with a wider rollout planned for March.
“These new additions are designed for younger shoppers seeking bold, trending flavours, which in turn drive incremental sales,” said Jacob’s Mini Cheddars marketing manager Kate Stokes.
“We know Mini Cheddars fans love a new flavour as much as we do, and we’re always listening,” Stokes added.
Meanwhile, the core Mini Cheddars range is being supported by an on-pack promotion, ‘Find a wedge to win a wedge’.
Running from mid-February into March, shoppers who find a triangular Mini Cheddar in their pack can win one of 10 £10k prizes.
A B2B iteration of the promotion is currently live in wholesale until March, offering retailers the chance to win a share of up to £350k when they buy and scan Mini Cheddar multipacks.
The limited-edition Mini Cheddars follow the rollout of Jacob’s Bites in July.
Available in Mature Cheddar & Caramelised Onion, Red Leicester, Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream, and Smoked Paprika (rsp: £2/125g) variants, the“generously seasoned” crackers were also tipped by Jacob’s to appeal to younger shoppers.
