Pladis has unveiled a new line-up of McVitie’s Halloween treats.
The range, set to roll out later this month, features five new SKUs, each with colourful sugar skull-themed packaging.
They are: McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Zesty Orangey Cake Bars, McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Fruity Blackcurrant Cake Bars, McVitie’s Digestives Cinder Toffee Flavour Slices, McVitie’s Funny Bones Chocolate Cake Bars and McVitie’s Funny Bones Sticky Toffee Flavour Cake (rsp: £1).
Pladis UK&I head of marketing for cake Claire Hooper said cakes would be “an important category for retailers to focus on” as Halloween celebrations would take a different form this year.
“Many shoppers [will be] swapping parties and trick or treating for watching scary movies and hosting smaller gatherings at home,” said Hooper.
“Cakes are perfectly suited to these at-home occasions,” she added.
In line with the Halloween range launch, Pladis will kick off a digital and social campaign calling on shoppers to celebrate the ‘Dead Good Night In’. The campaign will feature parent celebrity influencers to encourage families to try Halloween crafts, thus pushing the ‘Halloween at home’ message, said Pladis.
