Quorn has expanded its vegan Takeaway range with the launch of a new Spicy Buffalo Fillets line.

The frozen fillets will be available from 7 November in Tesco stores and are high in protein and low in fat.

The brand has said the NPD (rsp: £2.50/200g) was “deliciously crunchy, helping shoppers to create the perfect burger” at home.

The product is made of mycoprotein and encased in a hot and spicy coating containing smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, onion and garlic.

“We’re committed to providing products with the tastiest flavour combinations and an exceptional meat-like texture, that help shoppers easily transition into more meat-free eating,” said Gill Riley, marketing director at Quorn Foods UK.

“We know that new Quorn products are ideally placed to drive penetration in frozen meat-free, and advise retailers to stock the full Takeaway range to help boost sales in the run-up to a busy seasonal period.”

The Quorn Takeaway range is aimed at shoppers looking for a quick and meat-free option for families to have at home.

“As concerns around the cost of living increase, more shoppers are turning to the at-home ’fakeaway’, looking for a quick and tasty solution that also saves some money,” added Riley.

The brand said the range had delivered £2m worth of value sales since its launch last October.

“We’re confident that the addition of our Spicy Buffalo Fillet, which is perfect for a tasty burger build will drive growth even further,” said Riley.
